Reed diffusers are a great alternative to candles - releasing scent into the room naturally without the worry of a flame, heat or soot. This makes reed diffusers safer for your home, office or bathroom. Although like any product there are a few precautions
PRECAUTIONS
When inserting reeds for the first time, be careful of overflow and spillage, this may damage some surfaces
Do not ingest oils.
Use caution when filling your bottles with oil or flipping your reeds as oils can damage some surfaces.
Do not light reeds.
Be careful not to tip over the diffuser.
Keep away from children and pets
CAN I REUSE MY REEDS? WHAT IF I CAN NO LONGER SMELL ANY FRAGRANCE?
The simple answer is no, once the reeds have been used for a particular fragrance, that scent has been absorbed into the reeds, if the is then placed into a container with a new scent, it may disperse an unusual scent combination. It is best practice to always use new reeds for each scent and for each new container. reeds contain channels running the entire length of the reed - like a bunch of mini straws glued together. The channels draw up the fragrance and disperse them into the atmosphere
If you notice the scent starts to fade or simply want a stronger burst of scent, its time to flip the reeds. Take the bottle to a protected area, such as the kitchen sink or over an old towel, and flip the reeds over, exposing the "wet" end to the atmosphere. Be careful when flipping the reeds, as the diffuser liquid may damage some surfaces, and always remember to wash your hands and the surface afterwards, so you don't ingest any.
If you have already flipped the reeds and you still notice lack of scent throw, it may be time to replace the reeds and get the scent flowing again. As the reeds draw up the fragrance and become saturated, they may also become clogged with dust, especially after prolonged use, this can affect the scent through of the diffuser.
CAN I DILUTE MY DIFFUSER OIL WITH ANYTHING?
The simple answer is no!
The base has been designed for use as is, mixing this with another base or especially water can destroy the product. This can result in unusual scents, warping and dewicking of the reeds and uneven scent throw. We take no responsibility for damage occurred if you mix the products
HOW LONG WILL MY DIFFUSER LAST?
This is like asking "how long is a piece of string". There is no real answer to this question. Our 250ml bottle of diffuser can last anywhere from 3 months through to 6 months.
Why the variation you may ask?
This is because it is dependent on variations such as placement and the amount of heat in that area, or other factors such as air-conditioning, humidity, closed area, or air flow etc. essentially, the more evaporation that occurs the shorter the product will last.
If you want the product to last longer, try taking out a reed or two, although this will also decrease the scent throw.
